FISH is Hiring an Assistant Warehouse Manager Near Ellensburg, WA
- Organize the receiving, sorting, and distribution of Commodity Supplemental Food Packages to ensure timely and accurate delivery to those in need.
- Coordinate the receiving, sorting, and distribution of Produce Prescription boxes to support healthy food choices for our community.
- Manage the organization of weekly/monthly deliveries and sort items by percentage for distribution to subcontractors as needed.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to create and oversee schedules to ensure comprehensive coverage of warehouse operations.
- Provide supervision and guidance to the Warehouse Assistant to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and in line with FISH's standards.
- Train and manage warehouse volunteers, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of FISH's policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistent operations.
- Uphold a clear understanding of safety protocols for the warehouse and pantry, and ensure their implementation and adherence.
- Serve as a backup for deliveries to mobile pantries when required, ensuring timely and accurate distribution.
- Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to implement and uphold best practices in the management and operations of the Food Bank and Food Pantries.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant certifications a plus.
- Previous experience in warehouse management, food distribution, or related fields.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of volunteers.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and data entry.
- Knowledge of food safety and storage practices is advantageous.
